Job Title: Specialist Learning Support Teacher

We are seeking a specialist learning support teacher to join our team at OneSchool Global Bairnsdale Campus.

This is a full-time, permanent position that will see you supporting students with neurodiversity needs, including those with Down Syndrome and other neurodiverse conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement tailored learning programs for students with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, allied health professionals, and support staff to create a consistent approach.
  • Provide behaviour and engagement strategies, including trauma-informed practice, Positive Behaviour Supports (PBS), and approaches like "Kids Do Well If They Can" (Ross Greene).
  • Support students with expressive and receptive language difficulties using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), visuals, and other communication strategies.
  • Mentor, coordinate, and upskill colleagues in inclusive practice.
  • Provide respectful support with toileting and hygiene needs, following student care plans and maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements
  • VIT Registered teacher with expertise in neurodiversity and individualised education planning.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum and Syllabus, with a willingness to embrace modern teaching methods and technologies.
