Job Title: Demand Fulfillment Planning and Logistics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Demand Fulfillment Planning and Logistics Specialist to join our team at MSD Australia. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for utilizing your expertise in demand forecasting, inventory management, and logistics planning to drive business growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Market Segmentation: Conduct market segmentation analysis to identify business value segments and develop strategies to optimize demand forecasting and inventory management.
  • Demand Forecasting: Create unconstrained consensus forecasts for the market or cluster in monthly buckets, utilizing statistical modeling and adjustments to ensure accuracy.
  • Demand Management: Maintain demand parameters for the portfolio, manage baseline, upside, and downside scenarios, and collaborate with commercial teams to assess trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Trend Analysis: Analyze trends, risks, and opportunities together with the commercial teams to inform demand forecasting and inventory management decisions.
  • Forecast Review: Review gap to financial plan and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor forecast consumption vs demand and respond to forecast evolution during the cycle, ensuring optimal inventory levels and minimizing stockouts or overstocking.
  • Forecast Performance: Perform forecast performance/KPI analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Inventory Strategies: Develop inventory strategies for existing, new, and phase-out products, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage product lifecycle from new launch to deletion, ensuring seamless transitions and minimizing disruptions to supply chain operations.
Supply Operational Excellence:
  • RR Exceptions: Review RR exceptions escalated by the site in the firm zone (0-12wks) and collaborate with commercial stakeholders to resolve supply chain issues.
  • Demand Changes: Escalate and communicate demand changes to relevant stakeholders, partner with commercial stakeholders, Regional Supply Planner, E2E Planner, and/or Sites to balance supply vs demand.
  • Supply Timelines: Ensure supply timelines for new product launch, network transfer, divestiture, artwork, or source change are met, minimizing delays and disruptions.
  • Supply Issues: Escalate supply issues arising from market inventory management through Tier Process, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing impact on business operations.
  • Allocation and Prioritization: Execute allocations or priorities for the Market or Region in case of supply constraints, ensuring fair distribution and minimizing stockouts or overstocking.
  • Post-Release Activities: Manage FG post-release activities and communicate urgency (expedite requirements) to Site Logistics and/or Shipping Documentation team.
Distribution and Logistics Duties:
  • Logistics Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of logistics, manage third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse providers, and ensure seamless execution of supply chain activities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions with external vendors.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with Shipping sites and Planning Team to manage inventory levels, demand forecasting, and shipment schedule, ensuring optimal inventory levels and minimizing stockouts or overstocking.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
  • Certification: APICS CPIM or CSCP certification highly desirable.
Experience:
  • Industry Experience: Prior working experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and commercial environment or related production industry experience preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: Strong understanding of supply chain planning principles, including demand forecasting, inventory management, and logistics planning.
  • Business Acumen: Business acumen and strategic thinking abilities to align supply chain and distribution operations with overall business objectives.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using Power BI and Supply Chain Management software, SAP ERP/ECC/RR.
