We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Language Arts educator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to providing high-quality education to students.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English Language Arts to students in grades 6-8. They will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate expertise in English Language Arts and provide world-class instruction to students
  • Use data to guide and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
  • Build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a safe and welcoming learning environment
  • Leverage feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions to improve teaching practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English Language Arts or a related field
  • Alignment with our mission and values
  • Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with secondary ELA endorsement (or willingness to enroll in program)
  • Previous experience teaching in an urban setting (desired)
