About the Role
The Protective Services Group is responsible for delivering security services to state government departments across Queensland.
We are seeking highly skilled and motivated members of the Queensland Police Service to join our team as Government Security Officers.
As a Government Security Officer, you will be working in various locations across Queensland, including Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Ipswich and Toowoomba.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols of government buildings and facilities to ensure their security.
- Operate specialized security equipment and exercise powers authorized under the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000.
- Provide backup support to other Government Security Officers.
- Monitor and control access to government premises and designated areas.
- Detect and report fires and other potential hazards.
- Maintain high standards of communication with clients and the public.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
To be successful in this role, applicants must complete the Government Security Officer Course, facilitated by the Protective Services Group. This position requires wearing a uniform and holding a current first aid medical certificate.
