Accounting Clerk Opportunity

Cape Breton University is seeking a skilled Accounting Clerk to join their Finance Department. This is a full-time continuing role that requires a strong foundation in accounting principles and experience in a similar role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various accounting functions, including processing accounts payable vouchers, managing wire transfers, and handling non-student accounts receivable. Additionally, the Accounting Clerk will provide reception services and backup support in areas such as cash receipting, purchasing, and banking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable vouchers and manage wire transfers
  • Handle non-student accounts receivable
  • Provide reception services and backup support in cash receipting, purchasing, and banking

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles
  • At least one year of experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
