Job Description

This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact in your community by supporting older Australians and people experiencing transport disadvantage. The Transport Volunteer will provide safe, courteous, and respectful transport experience to clients who require assistance with non-urgent medical appointments, social outings, and essential errands.

The volunteer will operate Red Cross vehicles, assist clients with mobility aids, and engage in conversations appropriate to the client or group. They will also respect client privacy and dignity, maintain confidentiality, and use appropriate digital systems.

Responsibilities
  • Operate vehicles to transport clients locally and regionally on weekdays.
  • Provide a safe and respectful transport experience for clients.
  • Assist clients with mobility aids and help them board and alight safely.
  • Engage in conversations and activities suitable for the client or group.
  • Respect client privacy and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Current full Australian driver's licence and an excellent driving record.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and assist clients with mobility aids.
  • National Police Check (arranged through Red Cross).
  • Additional checks as required by state/territory (e.g., Working with Children Check) will be notified during onboarding.
