Job Title: Regional Health Strategist, West

This is a key leadership role that provides strategic direction and guidance to improve population health outcomes and reduce health inequalities in the West region.

  • Develop and implement evidence-informed prevention and earlier intervention strategies to address health disparities and promote health equity.
  • Provide expert advice and support to local government agencies and community organizations to meet their legislative requirements and achieve public health goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to compile and present regional health data and information, and make recommendations on service improvement and delivery.
  • Drive policy implementation through collaboration with Policy and Programs, Public Health Division, and provide local intelligence and feedback into statewide policy processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of sector communication and capacity building plans, including engagement strategies, practice exchange forums, and communities of practice.
  • Manage the compilation of health data and profiles for the region.
  • Contribute to regional and state-wide program planning, oversight, improvement, and evaluation.
  • Identify and actively manage emerging issues and areas of risk for government, the department, and the community.

Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a valid work permit or visa.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience in developing and implementing strategic plans.
  • Expertise in public health, health promotion, and health education, with a focus on improving population health outcomes and reducing health inequalities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including local government agencies, community organizations, and healthcare providers.
