We are seeking a Senior Paralegal to join our Litigation and Policy team at the Office of Registrar General (ORG). This role will provide support to the efficient operation of ORG by providing senior paralegal functions, acting as a professional point of contact with staff and key stakeholders, and assisting with preparation of draft legal advisings.
The successful candidate will have completed tertiary legal studies or have experience working as a paralegal or lawyer, ideally in a litigation or property practice. They will also be a team player, take initiative, pay attention to detail, and work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Providing senior paralegal functions to support the efficient operation of ORG.
- Acting as a professional point of contact with staff and key stakeholders.
- Assisting with preparation of draft legal advisings, Ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, court documents, and briefs to Counsel.
- Undertaking legal research.
- Filing documents in Court.
- Maintaining accurate records in legal information systems in accordance with records management policies and procedures and confidentiality/privacy requirements.
- Assisting with preparation of presentations, consultation papers, and other stakeholder engagement materials using PowerPoint and other Office365 tools.
- Tertiary legal studies or experience working as a paralegal or lawyer.
- Experience in a litigation or property practice is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
