Job Summary

The Food Services Assistant plays a vital role in providing catering support services. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing assistance or hospitality in a similar role, along with knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.

This position involves working closely with the clinical and care services team to create a positive dining experience for residents. The successful applicant will be responsible for setting up each servery and dining area ready for meal periods, washing dishes and cleaning according to the food safety program, and maintaining cleanliness and organisation of areas where food is prepared and served.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and serve meals and refreshments to residents while maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.
  2. Work closely with the clinical and care services team to create a positive dining experience for residents.
  3. Set up each servery and dining area ready for meal periods.
  4. Wash dishes and clean according to the food safety program.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of areas where food is prepared and served.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in providing catering assistance or hospitality in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Australian Food Standards and Food Safety.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
