Job Opportunity: Outdoor Utility Meter Reader

We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as Casual Meter Readers. As a Meter Reader, you will be responsible for driving to allocated routes and walking from property to property, reading and recording utility consumption numbers in an electronic hand-held device.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires minimal experience. You will have the opportunity to stay physically active while working outdoors and delivering an essential service for residents and local businesses in the area.

Key Responsibilities

As a Meter Reader, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and organizing your workday and routes efficiently
  • Accurately reading allocated meter routes in a timely, efficient, and safe manner
  • Understanding and ensuring efficiency targets are met
  • Representing the company and clients in a professional manner
  • Regularly communicating with office support team members
  • Uploading and downloading route information to/from the hand-held computer
  • Reporting to the office as required
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A good level of physical fitness and ability to walk long distances for extended periods
  • Motivation and reliability with a positive attitude
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 30-38 hours per week
  • An Australian Driver's License
  • A reliable motor vehicle and mobile phone
  • Flexibility and comfort with daily travel of up to, or more than, 45 minutes each way
