Backend Developer - Data Infrastructure Specialist

The goal of this role is to make reading accessible to everyone. Our products help over 50 million people turn whatever they're reading into audio, allowing them to read faster and more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Building and maintaining all backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, new products, text-to-speech, and external APIs.
  • Designing and implementing high-quality datasets at petabyte scale through a tight integration of infrastructure, engineering, and research work.
  • Collaborating with scientists to shift the cost/throughput/quality frontier, delivering richer data at bigger scale and lower cost to power next-generation models.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
  • Experience with web crawlers, large-scale data processing workflows, and professional experience with major Cloud Providers.
