Exceptional opportunities are available for skilled Registered Midwives to work in a dynamic and engaging environment at a private hospital in Newcastle. You will have the chance to work in various areas, including antenatal and postnatal wards, Maternity Assessment Unit, elective Caesarean list, and within both Birthing Suite and Special Care Nursery. There are permanent full-time and part-time roles available.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Registered Midwife, you will provide high-quality care to women of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds. You will be committed to delivering patient-centred care during antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods. With several specialty areas within our service, you will have the opportunity to work on the antenatal ward, in the Maternity Assessment unit, Birthing Suites, Postnatal ward, Cesarean lists, and/or in the renovated Special Care Nursery. To be successful, you must demonstrate genuine interest in caring for women and their families through pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal care. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in an inclusive environment are essential.
Qualifications- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife;
- Minimum of 2 years' recent experience working as a Registered Midwife in similar roles;
- Demonstrated ability to advocate for individualised patient-centred care;
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated professional manner when handling complex situations;
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Flexibility to work a seven-day roster including night duty;
- Basic computer skills;
- Current NSW Working with Children Check.

The hospital is an acute, private facility with 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit. The Maternity Unit comprises a Birthing Suite, Maternity Ward, and Special Care Nursery. The Birthing Suite has 6 rooms on the ground floor, adjacent to Croudace Operating Theatres. The Maternity Ward encompasses 38 beds combined with antenatal and postnatal rooms.
