Nursing Professional

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Nursing Professional to join our theatre team at Macquarie University Health. In this role, you will play a vital part in a wide range of urological surgeries including endoscopic, laparoscopic and open procedures.

You will be responsible for preparing and setting up surgical instruments, handling specialized equipment and conducting preoperative safety checks.

You will work closely with surgeons, anesthetists and theatre staff to ensure quality patient care and assist with maintaining a safe and efficient operating environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Surgical Instrument Preparation: Prepare and set up surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Preoperative Safety Checks: Conduct preoperative safety checks and assist with procedure setup.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with surgeons, anesthetists and theatre staff to ensure quality patient care.
  • Operating Environment: Assist with maintaining a safe and efficient operating environment.
Requirements:
  • Nursing Registration: Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA is required.
  • Experience and Skills: Experience as a scrub and/or scout nurse, preferably with a background in urological procedures.
  • Leadership and Communication: Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication and IT skills are essential.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to establish strong relationships with peers and clients with a customer service focus.
  • Technical Skills: Well-developed computer skills, including electronic medical records, MS Word, Excel and web-based research.
