Role Summary

We are seeking a Risk, Safety and Quality Officer to fill a key position in our perioperative suite.

  • This role involves providing day-to-day support of Clinical Governance systems, ensuring quality systems complement strategic direction, daily operational processes, budget, business direction, and delivery of clinical care.
  • Support a hospital-wide quality improvement program that promotes an integrated system of patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management.
  • Actively participate in identification and management of risks within the Perioperative Suite.
  • Deliver education and engage with staff to provide a common understanding of NSQHS Standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities to support ongoing preparedness for assessment by accrediting agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in and support a hospital-wide quality improvement program.
  2. Actively participate in identification and management of risks within the Perioperative Suite.
  3. Deliver education and engage with staff to provide a common understanding of NSQHS Standards.
  4. Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities.
  5. Provide administration and coordination support in the management and maintenance of controlled documents.

About You:

We are looking for someone with:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a registered nurse.
  • A thorough understanding of NSQHS Standards.
  • An understanding of principles of quality improvement and risk management.
  • Skills in investigation and report writing with a keen eye for detail.
  • High-level communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
