Leading the Perioperative Department requires exceptional leadership, operational management and clinical expertise. As a key leader in this dynamic role, you will foster a professional, respectful and collaborative culture that empowers your team to deliver outstanding patient outcomes and achieve professional growth.

The successful candidate will provide high-level guidance, support and mentorship to the Perioperative team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the hospital.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic planning, workforce development and succession planning
  • Applying advanced clinical judgement and ethical decision-making in perioperative care
  • Driving initiatives to improve patient safety, quality and satisfaction
  • Mentoring and developing staff, encouraging ongoing learning and growth

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Tertiary qualifications in management, business or a related discipline (desirable)
  • Expertise and/or postgraduate qualifications in perioperative nursing
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to influence and inspire others
  • Strong customer service focus, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving, analytical and report-writing abilities
  • A commitment to embracing the hospital's mission, vision and values
