Job Title

As a Youth Cultural Mentoring Program Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of culturally safe and responsive activities to First Nation young people. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable youth.

The Youth Cultural Mentoring Program provides a unique chance for young people (10-17 years old) to access activities that focus on reducing individual at-risk behaviors, preventing further contact with the youth justice system, and promoting holistic well-being.

As part of our team, you will work closely with other programs and services to ensure comprehensive support is available to young people. You will be responsible for creating, developing, and implementing activities that meet the needs of program participants, while maintaining service guidelines and adhering to Service Agreements.

You will also engage with local services and community members to identify and address the needs of young people. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

About the Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Be a First Nations Man or Woman;
  • Have a minimum of two years' experience in a similar related role;
  • Hold a current Blue Card;
  • Be able to gain a suitable criminal history check;
  • Hold a current C Class Driver's License (QLD);
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of business technology and desktop applications, including Microsoft Office Packages;
  • Possess well-developed communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Have the ability to work with vulnerable client groups and understand the holistic needs of clients, their families, and communities.
