Principal Reliability Engineering Lead

SafetyCulture, a global technology company, is looking for an experienced Reliability Engineer to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting the company's Observability platform, as well as working with engineering teams to define Service Level Objectives.
This role involves driving a culture of Incident Management and educating teams on reliability and performance issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating Observability platforms at scale, strong technical leadership skills, and knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle.
The successful applicant will work closely with the wider engineering team to understand what reliability metrics will enable them to prioritize production stability and where additional instrumentation will assist in diagnosing complex issues.
- Design, develop, and support Observability platform (Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana Cloud)
- Work with engineering teams to define Service Level Objectives
- Instrument Go microservices using OpenTelemetry
- Write and maintain Go modules providing fundamental capabilities to applications (e.g., tracing and logging)
- Drive a culture around Incident Management and how to learn and improve from incidents
