The Role

We're seeking an experienced leader to join our Australian Steel Products (ASP) division in Port Kembla, guiding the Manufacturing Finance team towards achieving sustainable energy solutions. This dynamic position caters to the unique needs of both local and Sydney-based applicants, offering flexibility in working arrangements.

This challenging yet rewarding role demands a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of energy sector finance, procurement, and contract management, along with exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement forward-thinking energy sourcing strategies, balancing factors such as reliability, efficiency, and environmental sustainability in response to the company's evolving needs
  2. Monitor and analyze critical energy, utility, and climate-related legislation, informing adaptive responses and capitalizing on opportunities for the business
  3. Foster collaborative relationships with senior executives, providing insightful counsel on key energy issues, sourcing approaches, and advocacy initiatives
  4. Maintain close ties with relevant industry stakeholders and governmental entities, collaborating on regulatory developments and market transformation efforts
  5. Offer comprehensive guidance on energy sourcing, reporting, compliance, and resource utilization, ensuring seamless integration with the company's broader objectives
  6. Ensure prudent financial management while minimizing risks by negotiating and overseeing utility contracts for manufacturing and downstream sectors
  7. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to formulate and execute robust energy and emissions reduction strategies
