Export Logistics Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to manage ocean freight exports. As an Export Logistics Specialist, you will oversee shipment-level tasks, coordinate with customers, and ensure compliance with regulations.

About the Role:

You will work closely with our logistics team to provide excellent customer service and drive business growth. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Managing shipments from receipt of customer bookings to handling documentation and transport arrangements.
  • Acting as the primary contact for customers regarding shipment updates, issue resolution, and claims.
  • Coordinating shipment routing and carrier assignment to meet customer service levels while optimising profit.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations related to commodities and shipping destinations.
  • Identifying opportunities to upsell services and attending customer visits to drive growth and retention.
  • Troubleshooting daily delivery issues and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Proactively managing customer shipments to deliver a positive experience and build long-term loyalty.
  • Controlling job file costs and maximising gross profit margins.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in export logistics or a related field.
  • Certifications in Customs, Dangerous Goods, and Air Cargo Security (essential).
  • Strong communication, analytical, and commercial negotiation skills.
  • The ability to work independently, under pressure, and manage multiple priorities.
