Senior Information Privacy Specialist

As a key member of the Right to Information and Privacy team in the Business and Corporate Services directorate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) meets its Information Privacy Act 2009 obligations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Privacy Management Plan: Lead the development and implementation of OIR's privacy management plan, privacy and mandatory data breach scheme policies and procedures.
- Manage Investigations and Responses: Manage and lead investigations and responses to privacy complaints and privacy breaches. Prepare written responses and reports relating to the management of personal information.
- Deliver Training and Support: Lead the development, implementation, and delivery of training packages and tailored face-to-face training in information privacy compliance across OIR. Provide support and advice on business initiatives and projects from a privacy perspective.
- Engage with Stakeholders: Engage with key internal and external stakeholders and represent the department by establishing strategic relationships with other state and local government agencies, including the Office of the Information Commissioner.
- Exercise Decision-Making Authority: Exercise decision-making authority under the RTI and IP Acts for sensitive and 'Of Note' requests, including undertaking Internal Reviews and preparing submissions relating to external review applications.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of information privacy principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
