About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Privacy Specialist to join our team at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). As a key member of our Governance, Administrative Division, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our privacy landscape and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a risk-based approach to privacy compliance across the organization.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to operationalize our privacy framework and enhance privacy outcomes.
  • Provide specialist advice to senior leaders on privacy and right to information regulations.
  • Manage formal access and amendment applications, respond to privacy complaints, and lead initiatives to improve privacy practices.
Requirements
  1. Education, training, and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a relevant postgraduate qualification, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications, together with extensive relevant experience in the implementation of privacy controls.
  2. Demonstrated record of success in developing and implementing enterprise-wide privacy management processes and practices.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively consult, negotiate, and influence a diverse group of stakeholders.
  4. Demonstrated highly developed written communication skills, with policy development experience and the ability to research and prepare complex documents and presentations.
  5. Proven ability to apply analytical skills, effectively prioritize work, and operate efficiently, independently, and with agility to meet key project objectives and milestones.
