Join a dynamic wine team as we embark on an exciting new chapter in our culinary journey. Our luxury hotel is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Sommelier to lead our wine operations to excellence.

The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of wine and food pairing, with a focus on Italian, French, and Australian wines. They will be responsible for crafting and updating our wine list, managing inventory, and supervising wine service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crafting and updating our wine list in collaboration with our chefs and General Manager.
  • Managing inventory like a pro and ensuring seamless wine service.
  • Supervising wine service and building relationships with winemakers and suppliers for the best selections.
  • Training our Sommeliers and Wine Waiters to keep everyone's knowledge fresh.
Requirements
  • Australian working rights and a current QLD RSA certificate.
  • Deep knowledge of wine and food pairing—we love Italian, French, and Australian wines.
  • Solid understanding of COGS and formal hospitality qualifications (minimum WSET Level 3).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
