Electrical Control Systems Deployment and Support Specialist

The Electrical Control Systems Deployment and Support Specialist will play a pivotal role in the implementation and maintenance of electrical control systems. This involves designing, documenting, testing, and commissioning material handling automation hardware and PLC software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced technical support to maintenance teams as required
  • Ensure adherence to OHS&E standards in all work activities
  • Assist with cost estimation and proposal preparation
  • Perform regular system diagnostics and analysis procedures, providing detailed reports
  • Develop and configure PLC programs, SCADA systems, and related equipment, such as HMI's, Scanners, Roller drive-cards, and VSD's
  • Report on installed equipment that does not meet design specifications
  • Test and commission systems on site
  • Prepare test plans and operator manuals
  • Train personnel and provide customer support

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified: engineering or scientific discipline or electrical trade with tertiary qualifications in engineering/electronics/mechatronics
  • Knowledge of configuration, programming, and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), variable speed drives, barcode scanners, and safety devices
  • Expertise in SCADA applications like ICONICS, CITEC, and WINCC
  • Proficiency in materials handling system controls is highly desirable, such as conveyors and sortation
  • Able to work independently and guide teams/projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Electrical trades license qualification is highly regarded
