Job Title: Staff Officer

Join The State of Queensland in a challenging and rewarding role as a Staff Officer in the Professional Standards and Governance Command. As a key member of the team, you will provide strategic and operational support to the Assistant Commissioner to drive a performance culture, characterised by service excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directly support the Assistant Commissioner and work with the managerial team to implement strategies and monitor Command deliverables.
  • Provide advice to the Assistant Commissioner on a range of issues across the Professional Standards and Governance Command, particularly regarding delivery of key work and inputs across the Command.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of and high-level information on issues across the Command.
  • Prepare reports, submissions, briefs and other correspondence in relation to the performance outputs and outcomes within the Command.
  • Establish, lead and deliver strategies and projects as needed, in conjunction with the Groups within Professional Standards and Governance Command.
  • Manage the operational planning process for the Command and coordinate input into the Department's strategic and business plan.
  • Build and maintain strategic networks and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the work of the Command.
  • Represent Assistant Commissioner, Professional Standards and Governance Command in negotiations with other government agencies as required to ensure the achievement of Government priorities and outcomes relating to the Command.
  • Conduct research and analyse issues to ensure the provision of accurate and timely advice to the Assistant Commissioner, Professional Standards and Governance Command to support strategy, planning and performance reporting.
  • Promote the work of the Command across the wider agency.
