About the Role

A typical day will involve:

  • Providing laundry services under the direction and supervision of the facility manager according to established policies and procedures.
  • You will be responsible for all in-house washing, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures related to laundry services and infection control.
  • Maintenance of laundry equipment, checking of filtration devices, maintaining stock inventory, and personal inventory of residents.
  • Ironing, mending, and tagging of laundry items as necessary.
  • Promptly reporting problems to the facility manager.
  • Handling laundry chemicals in accordance with safety information and safe handling techniques.
  • Returning personal clothing to resident cupboards and maintaining a tidy condition.
  • Performing other duties as directed by the facility manager.
About You

To be successful in this role, you should ideally possess:

  • An empathetic nature and a willingness to work with the elderly.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Supervisory skills, including guiding and organizing staff to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • A flexible schedule, including availability to work various shifts on weekdays and weekends.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and written.

In addition, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • The ability to communicate in spoken and written English.
  • One year of experience in laundry services would be advantageous.
