Job Description

Seeking a seasoned procurement specialist to lead and take ownership of procurement activities for battery energy storage solution projects in Australia. The successful candidate will have experience working in a matrixed environment, engaging with multiple stakeholders, and managing multiple projects and tasks.


This role requires an autonomous and pragmatic professional who can develop and implement sourcing and procurement strategies to support tenders and project delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise and develop relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.


The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and implementing sourcing and procurement strategies to support tenders and project delivery
  • Identifying and developing new suppliers and contractors to enhance price, delivery, and quality
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external specialists to arrange technical specifications, scope of works, and performance requirements into procurement agreements
  • Supporting the Sales/Tendering Deal team and effectively managing obtaining proposals from suppliers and subcontractors to meet tender timeframes and key deadlines
  • Preparing and maintaining the procurement plan and equipment delivery schedule
  • Leading and negotiating procurement agreements and contracts to secure products and services for the balance of plant
  • Supporting the development and execution of contracts, ensuring adherence to key project timeframes through effective contract term negotiations aligned with Fluence's obligations to customers
  • Maintaining robust record-keeping and information lifecycle management throughout procurement planning, tender, and contract execution lifecycles
  • Managing vendor selection and appointment in consultation with relevant stakeholders
  • Issuing purchase orders and ensuring that equipment deliveries and services meet project requirements
  • Coordinating with Fluence's Global Supply Chain and offshore suppliers to meet equipment delivery requirements, including specific shipping needs
  • Working with Construction and Operational Services teams to manage local logistics concerning storage and movement of inventory, tools, and equipment between warehousing and site locations
  • Preparing and maintaining up-to-date procurement plans and shipping schedules for project management and reporting purposes
  • Supporting the project team in resolving quality and delivery issues, including claims with suppliers and contractors
