Lifestyle Content Editor

Join us to develop and implement editorial content strategies for a leading Australian media outlet.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Copy edit and sub freelance pieces, including recipes, swiftly and accurately.
  • Commission freelancers/sourcing new talent.
  • Originating timely and lively service journalism, human interest and news ideas adaptable across multiple platforms.
  • Communicate with editors and colleagues about stories and ideas.
  • Liaise with picture and multimedia desks to ensure engaging visual storytelling.
  • Collaborate on reporting projects with other reporters, news editors, data specialists and multimedia journalists.
  • Support special projects and forward planning initiatives.
  • Generate intelligent, original and news-reactive ideas.
  • Liaise with international teams to stay informed about future planned content reusable for our audience.
  • Represent the organization at relevant public events as needed.

Skill Requirements:

  • Copy editing and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with multimedia and digital publishing platforms.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
