Working as a mental health clinician can be a highly rewarding career path, especially when working with children and young people. At Alfred Health, we are dedicated to providing accessible mental health services for this demographic and their families.

The Infant Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service is divided into two streams: 0-11 and 12-26 years, with specialist services in perinatal care, neurodevelopmental presentations, eating disorders and outreach support.

As a clinician in this team, you will work closely with children and young people aged 12-26 years who are experiencing emotional, behavioral and mental health difficulties and their families. Your role will involve clinical assessment and intervention, case-management and single session/brief therapy.

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold approved tertiary qualifications and membership with the relevant registering body. A Developmental Psychiatry Course or equivalent is preferred, as well as training and experience in providing child and youth mental health services.
