The role of Associate Director, Academic Engagement at UNSW Australia is a pivotal position within the Library's senior management team. As a key member, you will spearhead the delivery of exceptional teaching and outreach services that align with the University's strategic goals.

This leadership position oversees staff who collaborate with Faculties and Schools to connect academics with Library resources, ensuring seamless alignment with the University's priorities. Focused on enhancing digital literacy and study skills, you will develop and implement innovative teaching services based on the Library's Digital Information Skills Framework.

Your responsibilities will include strategic planning, resource management, and building stakeholder networks to deliver cutting-edge Library services. This involves overseeing two Academic Engagement teams, reporting to the Director of Information Services, and supervising two direct reports.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A postgraduate qualification and extensive experience at a management level within an academic library.
  • Substantial experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality library services.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and lead people and teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with various stakeholders and capacity to engage across UNSW.
  • Sound understanding of relevant pedagogies and educational technologies applied in the higher education sector.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail for deliverables produced.

UNSW offers a competitive salary, approximately AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also enjoy flexible working arrangements, additional leave over the Christmas period, access to lifelong learning and career development opportunities, and progressive HR practices.
