Our company is seeking a skilled Senior Wall Finisher to join our team. This full-time permanent position involves working on various client sites across Newcastle/Maitland region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, patching and repairing plasterboard, rendering and drywall. They will also apply finishing coats to ensure smooth, clean and durable finishes.

In addition, the Senior Wall Finisher will prepare and seal surfaces before applying finishes. They must have excellent skills in preparing surfaces (cleaning, sanding, priming) for painting, ensuring a long-lasting finish.

Other responsibilities include applying various types of paint (oil-based, water-based, or specialty finishes) to walls, ceilings and exterior surfaces. The candidate will repair and touch up painted surfaces as needed.

The role also involves conducting regular property inspections and maintenance in both common areas and private residences. The successful candidate must handle small repairs, including carpentry, plumbing and electrical tasks as needed.

Assisting in the upkeep of grounds, such as basic landscaping or minor repairs to pathways and fencing, is also a key aspect of the job.

The Senior Wall Finisher must adhere to safety guidelines and ensure the environment remains safe for residents, staff and contractors.

To be considered for this role, you must have valid work rights in Australia, Australian citizenship or a visa with valid work rights. You are required to provide a copy of your passport or visa documentation.

A strong knowledge of plastering, painting and general maintenance practices is essential. Previous experience in commercial properties is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality workmanship, with a focus on attention to detail and timeliness.
