ARC Future Grids Training Centre - Leading the Transformation to a Clean Energy Future
The ARC Future Grids Training Centre is a leading research and training program that aims to develop future leaders in power and energy with a strong commitment to advancing the transition to a clean energy future.
Program Overview
The ARC Future Grids Industrial Transformation Training Centre (ITTC), led by the University of Wollongong, is a 5-year, $8.5m research and training program that brings together 6 universities and 16 industry partners across five Australian states to deliver innovative research that will advance Australia's transition to a clean energy future.
Research Focus
The successful appointee will work closely with the industry partner organisation to undertake applied, industry-focused research in the areas of:
- Hydrogen production from renewable energy surplus
- Hydrogen storage for transportation
- Grid integration of hydrogen energy resources
- Control of hydrogen storage to support grid frequency
- Power output smoothing of hydrogen fuel-cells
Expected Outcomes
The expected outcomes from this position will be a demonstration platform for large-scale production of renewable hydrogen, and hydrogen storage for transportation and grid integration, equipped with an advanced control strategy.
Research Environment
The appointee will be working in the Research Theme Area of Hydrogen Energy of the ARC Future Grids ITTC, within a large research entity (60 people including 20+ PhDs, 5+ post-Docs).

The successful appointee will be supported through additional mentoring, training, and personal development, and will also have an opportunity to interact with industries.
