About the Role

As a Project Cost Control Engineer at Energy Australia, you will play a critical role in supporting the Project Services Lead and Project Managers by managing cost control systems and processes. Your primary focus will be monitoring project expenditure and actual costs, ensuring accurate projections, and preventing unnecessary overspending.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Control and Analysis: Prepare and make changes to Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) & cost estimate breakdown and documentation as required.
  • Project Change Management: Assist in the production of project change reports and provide feedback on areas of risk and opportunity.
  • Quality Management: Establish and maintain a Quality Management function to ensure adherence to the project management governance standards.
  • Cost Information and Analysis: Provide detailed cost analysis and cost information on the Project Budget and AFEs as required/requested by the Project Services Lead, Project Manager/Outage Leader, and other project team members.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve the cost control system and processes that can be applied to any future projects/outages undertaken by the EA.
About You

To excel as a Project Cost Control Engineer, you will need a strong foundation in engineering and a keen eye for managing project details. Success in this role will require a mix of technical skills, project management expertise, and a focus on safety.

Requirements:
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience in maintenance/construction cost controls.
  • Relevant Experience: Proven relevant experience in a Project Management or Project Services environment in a similar Project Services / Outage Execution role.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with a strong ability to lead and influence stakeholders.
  • Organizational and Analytical Skills: Highly developed organisational, analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with earned value analysis and cost/progress S-curves.
