About the Position:

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Design Manager to lead our team in Perth. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering design, particularly in mining or minerals processing applications.

  • Project Oversight: Supervise and direct engineering staff and designers on detailed project designs.
  • Client Focus: Identify opportunities, propose, and win project work, while overseeing execution and delivery.
  • Design Review: Oversee and review design deliverables, including cable schedules, equipment lists, instrument lists, single lines, schematics, termination diagrams, and 3D model designs.
  • Equipment Specification: Select and procure equipment as required.
  • Contractor Management: Scope electrical manufacturer and installation works and provide support and direction to contractors.

Key Requirements:

  • Educated in Electrical Engineering, recognized by Engineers Australia.
  • Experience in project design, preferably in mining or minerals processing applications.
  • Strong commercial awareness with ability to formulate, manage, and meet project targets.
  • Effective communication skills with the electrical engineering team and project stakeholders.
  • Background in Motor Control Centres design, instrumentation specification, and selection.
  • Ability to instruct and manage designers/draftspeople.
  • Experience in a consulting capacity.
  • A willingness to perform site work and commissioning.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
