Position Overview: The role of a Full-Time Plumber at Taronga Zoo offers a distinctive working environment, where each day presents new challenges. This position involves maintaining and servicing plumbing systems for various animal exhibits, including tigers, elephants, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of plumbing, drainage, and gasfitting tasks, including maintenance, repairs, and construction as directed.
  • Follow work requisition systems and ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborate as part of a high-performing team to support the strategic objectives of Taronga.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner, adhering to quality standards.
  • Execute all trade and non-trade related tasks as assigned by the Leading Hand Plumber or management.
  • Promote and implement sustainability practices to help achieve Taronga's environmental goals.
  • Report any incidents related to Work, Health and Safety in accordance with established protocols.

Candidate Profile: We seek individuals who possess:

  • A current license in Plumbing, Draining, Gasfitting, or LP Gasfitting (desirable).
  • Experience with filtration systems (highly desirable).
  • A valid NSW Driver's License or the ability to have an existing license formally recognized.
  • Comprehensive experience in all aspects of the plumbing trade (desirable).
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check.
