Maintenance Fitter Role Overview

At Pact Group, we are looking for a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our Contract Manufacturing Division.

The successful candidate will play a lead role in all day-to-day operations, including coaching and mentoring of maintenance technicians and line setters, supervision of external contractors, preventative maintenance on machines and equipment, and responding to emergency machine breakdowns throughout the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieving and maintaining a high level of machine and equipment reliability
  • Improving and modifying machinery to improve productivity and quality of product
  • Designing, promoting, and carrying out preventative maintenance
  • Ensuring all machines are safe and fit for purpose
  • Installation of new machines and equipment
  • Overhaul and upkeep and repair of all plant machines
  • Reviewing and advising on engineering requirements and drawings
  • Actively promoting safe working practices
  • Working with and coordinating contractors
  • Undertaking repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and predetermined specifications
  • Fault finding, testing, and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures, and parts
  • Where a detailed specification is not provided, determining the cause of the fault and then undertaking the most cost-effective solution to remedy the defect
  • Effective communication – keeping management and relevant parties aware and seeking advice and assistance when required
  • Training and assessing line setters and maintenance technicians
  • Able to set up the capper machine when required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A keen eye for detail
  • A basic understanding of engineering requirements and ability to interpret drawings
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite/computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
