Role Overview

We are seeking a professional to provide specialised support to individuals living with complex mental health needs.

About the Role

This role requires individuals who can combine professional boundaries with genuine empathy, and understand the importance of trauma-informed support in promoting safety, stability, and growth.

You will play a crucial part in supporting participants with high and complex mental health support needs. This position demands resilience, professionalism, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in challenging situations.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent, person-centred support that promotes dignity and autonomy
  • Apply trauma-informed principles, safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment in all interactions.
  • Implement de-escalation strategies and manage behaviours of concern with professionalism and composure.
  • Support participants to engage in daily routines, community access, and meaningful activities that foster wellbeing and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical staff, coordinators, and families to ensure support strategies are followed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold compliance with organisational requirements.
About You

We are looking for individuals with the following qualities and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience with mental health support needs, and disability support
  • Strong skills in de-escalation, crisis response, and risk management.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Resilient, patient, and able to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, and person-centred care.
  • Willingness to engage in reflective practice and ongoing professional development.
