This is a unique opportunity for a strategic and solutions-focused leader to shape the future of infrastructure across Hobsons Bay. You will oversee a diverse and high-impact portfolio spanning capital projects, asset management, and environmental compliance in public open spaces.

The Opportunity

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will drive the strategic development and delivery of capital works, asset management, and land contamination compliance support in public open spaces. Leading a multidisciplinary team, you'll champion innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence in how Council plans, builds, and maintains its infrastructure.

  • Provide strategic leadership across capital projects, asset management, and infrastructure delivery.
  • Lead, mentor and empower a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compliant and community focused outcomes.
  • Oversee the implementation of land contamination frameworks for safe, sustainable public spaces.
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation in infrastructure planning and service delivery.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align infrastructure outcomes with Council's strategic vision.
  • Represent Hobsons Bay in partnerships with government agencies, contractors and industry bodies.
  • Provide expert advice to Council, the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on infrastructure priorities and risks.
  • Manage budgets, business plans and performance reporting to ensure accountability and alignment with Council objectives.

You are a strategic leader who thrives in a complex, high-impact environment. You will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams across infrastructure and capital works.
  • Strong financial, contract and operational management capabilities.
  • Expert knowledge of asset management, project delivery frameworks and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience In driving change programs with a focus on partnering approach cross organisation.
  • A commitment to safety, sustainability and community-first infrastructure outcomes.
