Guidance Officer Role Overview

This is a temporary position for a Guidance Officer to support students at a state high school.

The successful applicant will have experience supporting diverse student populations and possess complex case management processes, communication, self-direction, and leadership skills.

They must be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team with a strong understanding of senior secondary schooling being highly favorable.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing guidance services to students

Mandatory requirements include:

  • Current registration as a teacher in Queensland
  • One of the following:
    • A Master's degree in Guidance and Counselling or an equivalent qualification
    • Full registration as a psychologist through AHPRA
    • Qualifications relevant to the role, deemed acceptable by the Director-General

Applicants must hold a valid qualification by September 1, 2024.
