Leading a Team For Excellence in International Development
Project managers with extensive experience of overseeing cross-functional teams are sought to spearhead development projects on behalf of international organizations. These individuals are responsible for fostering collaborative environments and driving team performance through strategic planning, resource allocation, and regular check-ins. Additionally, they must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders and staff members alike. As such, successful applicants will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality results while meeting project timelines and budgets.

The ideal candidate will be equipped with a bachelor's degree and 15 years of experience or master's degree and 12 years of experience or PhD and 8 years of experience in a relevant field. They must also demonstrate expertise in implementation of large and complex projects, senior management experience, and knowledge of DFAT contracting policies and procedures. Furthermore, they should possess leadership skills, including the ability to build, mobilize, and lead multidisciplinary teams, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A key responsibility of this position is to ensure that all project deliverables exceed expectations and are managed within budget and on time. To achieve this, the successful candidate will work closely with clients and stakeholders to prioritize tasks, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress regularly. This includes developing and implementing strategies to enhance staff morale and retention, as well as ensuring seamless integration of project activities through annual work plans and budgeting processes.

Another critical aspect of this role is personnel management and development. The successful candidate will be responsible for hiring, training, and mentoring team members, as well as creating opportunities for growth and professional development. They must also be able to manage technically, operationally, and geographically diverse teams, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in the face of challenges.
