Role Summary

In this role, you will deliver high-quality pathology services with expertise in various areas of Special Haematology, including Flow Cytometry, Cryopreservation, Haemoglobin Electrophoresis, and Molecular Haematology. You will ensure adherence to current Australian Standards while following the policies of the Haematology department and the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative oversight for the management of the Special Haematology Laboratory, ensuring effective inventory control and budget compliance.
  • Participate in workload management and workflow optimization.
  • Conduct training sessions and evaluate staff competency.
  • Maintain, assess, and implement laboratory procedures and instrumentation.
  • Collaborate as part of the Management Team within the Haematology Laboratory.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Applied Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in one or more areas of Special Haematology.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record in training and developing staff effectively.
  • Willingness to undergo a national criminal history check.
