About Water Resource Management Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a professional to manage our water resources in Melbourne's Northern and Southern regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of waterway and catchment obligations, programs, and services in these areas.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental management principles and practices, as well as experience in leading teams and driving high performance. They will also be able to develop and execute plans to meet customer expectations and provide excellent service.

The role is an eighteen month fixed term contract based from our North East Regional Office in Croydon, reporting to the Head of Waterway & Catchment Services South East.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of professionals to deliver water resource management services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including councils and community groups, to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualification in environmental or natural resource management, science, social science, or engineering.
  • Proven leadership experience with demonstrated ability to drive high team performance.
  • Able to evolve and execute water resource management plans and service offerings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Victorian driver's license and ability to pass a Police Check and AusCheck.
