Environmental Sustainability Specialist

Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will have expertise in environmental management and sustainability, with experience in water and waste services. They will provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders on environmental matters and develop policies to guide sustainable practices.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies for reducing environmental impact and improving sustainability.
  • Lead compliance and risk management activities related to climate change, emissions reduction, and drought planning.
  • Represent the organization at government panels, industry events, and community forums on environmental issues.
  • Design and deliver programs to promote water conservation and engagement across the community.
Key Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification (AQF Level 7 or above) in environmental science, engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  • Substantial experience in environmental management within the water or waste sector.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, with ability to work strategically.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and resource allocation.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office suite.
