Senior Analyst Compliance

Credit Union Australia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst, Regulatory Compliance to join our Enterprise Compliance team on a permanent basis.

This role plays a critical part in providing rigorous compliance advice and challenge to the Bank's Line 1 divisions regarding both BAU issues and emerging initiatives, supporting enterprise risk management initiatives, and assisting the evolution of the Bank's enterprise compliance program.

The development and maintenance of effective professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders is a crucial aspect of this role.

This position is located in our Brisbane CBD office with the flexibility to work from home two days per week.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the team supporting the broader enterprise regarding regulatory compliance matters, including the interpretation of regulatory guidance, emerging regulatory change initiatives, and engagement with regulators;
  • Coordinate the Breach Management program, including assessment and reporting to the relevant regulators;
  • Act as the Compliance lead for relevant divisions, thematic reviews, and emerging initiatives, providing SME guidance and coordinating other compliance advisory support as beneficial;
  • Challenge the Bank's Enterprise Compliance Framework to ensure its ongoing effectiveness and relevance to the Bank's contemporary products and services;
  • Assist in the completion of assurance reviews over both the broader enterprise Compliance program and thematic Compliance issues;
  • Contribute to the review of relevant Policies, Standards, and other supporting artefacts to ensure they reflect external regulatory changes and the Bank's internal requirements;
  • Assist in the preparation of papers and reports for relevant Risk Governance Committees and Board reporting; and Representing Enterprise Compliance at relevant meetings, both internal and with relevant external stakeholders.
About You:
  • Between 3 to 5 years Financial Services Compliance experience, preferably in Banking, that includes prior responsibility for:
  • The provision of compliance advice and challenge;
  • The coordination of Breach Management programs, including assessment and reporting to the relevant regulators;
  • Monitoring the Financial Services landscape for emerging regulatory change initiatives; and
  • Governance reporting regarding the above.
  • Degree qualification in Law, Business, or a related field;
  • Strong understanding and practical working knowledge of contemporary Compliance and Operational Risk Frameworks;
  • Knowledge of relevant Financial Services sector standards, including legislation, regulation, prudential standards, codes, etc., including, but not limited to, combinations of the following, APRA prudential standards, Corporations Act, Customer-Owned Banking Code of Practice, Privacy Act, and the AML/CTF Act;
  • A strong knowledge of ASIC breach and remediation requirements;
  • Demonstrated experience working in enterprise-level compliance roles, including:
  • Working in Line 2 roles supporting diverse divisions;
  • Developing and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with relevant stakeholders.
