BIM Fire Protection Designer Role

This role presents an exciting opportunity to leverage your technical skills and make a meaningful impact in a collaborative environment.


You will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with fire protection engineers to produce detailed and coordinated BIM models and drawings across all project phases.
  • Developing accurate models of fire protection systems such as sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, pumps, and detection systems using Revit and other BIM tools.
  • Ensuring the delivery of compliant, constructible, and high-quality documentation in line with Australian codes and standards.
  • Contributing to digital coordination and clash detection processes, working closely with other services disciplines.
  • Maintaining and applying BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), and ensuring all models meet internal and client-specific standards.
  • Participating in design coordination meetings and supporting continuous improvement in BIM delivery across the team.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in BIM modeling for building services, preferably with a focus on fire protection systems.
  • Solid Revit proficiency is essential; experience with Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM360 is a bonus.
  • A deep understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC), AS 2419, AS 2118, and other fire system design standards.
  • A detail-oriented mindset, with a commitment to model accuracy, documentation quality, and design integrity.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work seamlessly with engineers, designers, and external consultants.
