About the Role

Laing O'Rourke's Rail Division is seeking a skilled Signalling Senior Project Manager to expand our railway signalling capability. Based in Seven Hills, NSW, you will work as part of a multi-skilled team to deliver various rail projects within NSW and Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Lead to ensure client expectations are managed, including establishing a project brief, understanding development drivers, and establishing a cost plan to meet agreed budgets.
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with authorities and utilities across project phases, from Masterplan to CC preparation.
  • Develop a design procurement strategy with the Project Lead and Project Engineer to ensure consultants understand key project drivers.
  • Engage cost planners to develop an overall cost plan and work with them to develop the design in accordance with the project budget.
  • Support the Project Lead in developing an overall conversion program, including project issues related to revenue, clients, authorities, design, procurement, and delivery.
  • Identify and understand key risks and opportunities in all aspects of the project to optimise Laing O'Rourke's position.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with client quality requirements and Australian standards/codes.
  • Prepare project client reporting documentation in a PCG format and attend PCG meetings. For internal Laing O'Rourke reporting, prepare and present monthly conversion reports tracking against budgets, program, and outputs.
About You
  • Experience managing teams for delivery phase construction.
  • Experience managing Signalling and Communication construction projects, as well as managing contractors.
  • Degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) or Construction Management or equivalent.
  • Understanding of design, problem-solving capabilities, and commercial acumen.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Rail Signalling preferred.
  • Ability to communicate on all levels – Directors to operatives.
