Cloud Architect Role Overview

This is a senior IT leadership position within the department, responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of cloud-based platforms. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality cloud solutions that meet business requirements.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Create, manage, and maintain complex SQL Server and Azure SQL databases.
  • Implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Set up Azure Infrastructure, configure components, and optimize performance.
  • Manage Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking, to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Identify and configure network requirements for database connectivity to support business growth.
  • Ensure secure and efficient data transfer between on-premises and cloud environments to protect sensitive information.
  • Set up and manage Azure Data Factory pipelines for data integration and transformation to drive business insights.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot ADF pipelines to ensure smooth data flow and identify areas for improvement.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with Azure infrastructure and services, including Azure SQL Managed Instance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure Virtual Machines and their configurations.
  • Experience in managing Azure Resource Groups and implementing security best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to support data warehousing and business intelligence.
  • Understanding of data security best practices and compliance regulations to ensure data protection.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong communication and project management skills to deliver projects on time and within budget.
