About the Position

Contribute to solving complex problems for thriving cities and resilient environments as an Associate Archaeologist. As a key member of our Cultural Heritage team, you will work on projects across Australia, particularly in Victoria, providing technical leadership in Aboriginal cultural heritage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of Victorian Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management Plans, including field survey, test excavations, and reporting
  • Supervise and conduct heritage and significance assessments
  • Manage project portfolios and prepare proposals for clients
  • Write heritage reports and assessments, with more complex reports prepared with guidance
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and support for other archaeologists while undertaking field assessment and artefact analysis
Requirements
  • Victorian Registered Heritage Advisor qualification and experience leading fieldwork in accordance with Minister's Guidelines
  • Honours or postgraduate degree in a relevant subject (e.g., heritage management, archaeology)
  • Consulting experience with a focus on Aboriginal heritage in Victoria
  • Experience leading Cultural Heritage Management Plans
  • Awareness of State and Commonwealth heritage legislation and relevant guidelines
  • Excellent research and site analysis skills
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage heritage projects in a timely manner, within budget, and to a high level of quality
