About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Developer to join our Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Customers Team at AGL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the development of key opportunities and owning the project development process of medium to high capital value behind-the-meter and off-grid power generation projects for large business customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the required scope of works and budget for technical feasibility studies for projects, collaborating with engineering and delivery teams to identify appropriate contractors and technology providers.
  • Manage internal technical and commercial stakeholders to bring projects from concept to delivery, providing technical and commercial input into the identification and acquisition of suitable land for projects.
  • Support engagement with targeted organisations, contribute to tender responses, and develop strong relationships to identify potential renewable energy and hybrid power systems projects.
  • Work with Legal and Commercial stakeholders to refine contract terms and conditions on a project-by-project basis, ensuring all projects are progressed through a formal project governance process in accordance with business rules.
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment Systems and goals, meeting the organisation's policies and standards for HSE Management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor level tertiary qualification in business and/or technical related fields, preferably with experience in renewable energy project development.
  • Technical understanding of renewable energy and thermal power systems, including wind, solar, storage, and generator technologies.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and regulatory processes.
  • Understanding of energy markets and value drivers for large-scale generation projects, with a focus on renewable energy.
  • Strong writing skills, financial analysis, business acumen, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and commercial negotiation skills.
