About this Role

As a Learning Facilitator you will deliver teaching programs and courses in vocational education and higher education.

Your role involves delivering courses according to the course design, client policies and procedures. You will engage and support learners/students to ensure quality student learning experiences.

Courses may include introducing students to various IT employment opportunities, exploring IT at large including professional opportunities emerging technologies hardware software databases networking web development and their security.

You will acquire skills in techniques tools processes and IT-related fields used in the industry.

  • A Master's degree or PhD in Information Technology or a relevant discipline
  • Substantial work experience and significant industry experience in Information Technology
  • Demonstrable currency in skills contemporary teaching and learning experience relevant to the discipline
  • Academic profile reflecting the teaching capacity required to lead students in intellectual inquiry
  • Demonstrated active engagement in continuing scholarship or industry activity relevant to the discipline
  • Knowledge of contemporary developments in the relevant discipline informed by continued learning or practice
  • Sufficient proficiency with software and other technology required to perform the role effectively
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Confidence and resourcefulness in learning new technologies
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems
  • A passion for helping students succeed academically and personally

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning scheduling and delivery of live webinar sessions and activities according to course design
  • Delivery of planned academic content according to course design
  • Facilitating learning activities according to course content and design including discussion forums and assessment tasks
  • Delivering assessment marking and feedback for approximately three assessments per teaching period
  • Engaging with and attending assessment moderation processes and submitting assessment results as directed
  • Attending course administration meetings typically three per teaching period
  • Providing prompt communication responses with students via endorsed communication channels
  • Being accessible to students seeking individual assistance with their studies
  • Participating in coaching and peer learning sessions
