Job Title

Foundry Operative

We are seeking an individual to fill a Foundry Operative position. This role involves general store keeping and occasional assistance with manufacturing of foundry products.

The successful candidate will work alongside their team, reporting to the Foundry Supervisor, and be responsible for helping to maintain daily operations' functionality.

  • Ensure work is conducted in a safe, timely and efficient manner while maintaining company values.
  • Plan the best way to approach the daily output of product.
  • Manufacture moulds as per the work schedule.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct work safely, efficiently and according to company values.
  2. Plan daily production output effectively.
  3. Manufacture moulds according to the schedule.
  4. Secure moulds ready for pouring.
  5. Pour moulds at correct temperature.
  6. Clear moulds from the pouring floor in a timely manner.
  7. Knockout sand moulds in a safe and productive manner.
  8. Ensure all priority castings are delivered to the fettling shop as requested by supervisors.
  9. Ensure castings are fettled in a timely manner to meet customer delivery dates.
  10. Check all castings for defects and quarantine when defects are present.
  11. Use hand tools and power tools, handheld operations.
  12. Operate workshop machines for basic operations.
  13. Undertake manual handling.
  14. Pack & dispatch castings as per the work schedule.
  15. Operate fixed and movable load shifting equipment.
  16. Maintain equipment in good condition and immediately report any issues to your Supervisor.
  17. Contribute to process improvements and put forward ideas at toolbox meetings on ways to improve quality and safety.

Requirements:

  1. Be motivated.
  2. Possess an impeccable safety record.
  3. Have a strong work ethic.
  4. Be keen to contribute to a progressive and dynamic organisation.
  5. Forklift Licence (desirable).
  6. Literate & Numerate (desirable).
